Fun at home
I heard that some people were still looking for my updates...so here I am happy at home. I am still pretty skinny, weighing in at 4lb, 9oz. I fit quite well in my daddy's hat and can even hold my own bottle, for a moment or two. My big sister is always there for cuddles and my brother always tells me how beautiful I am.

I'M HOME!!!!
Thank you everyone for all your help, support and prayers to get me home! It has been quite a journey and it is so nice to finally be home with my brother and sister! My finalization date is August 3rd. We will be sending out photos and announcements soon, so watch for me in the mail. Again, Thank You and Hope To See You Soon! Goodbye for now.

Well, our journey home started with Chris flying to Pensacola, Fl saturday morning and I picking him up. We checked out of the Ronald McDonald House and went to the hospital. After one last feeding and quite a few tears by myself and the nurses we were on our way. Chris and I drove all saturday, through the night and into sunday morning when we arrived home shortly before noon. It was so nice to be home after a month in Alabama and Myanna was just wide eyed with all the new sights and sounds. She got quite the welcome and got to meet the neighbors, Cathy, Joanna, Wanda and Abel as well as some family, Amber, Nanny and PapPap, Leticia and Dianna stopped by. Everyone was overwhelmed by her size and she is just a doll! She hopes to meet some more people throughout the week.

friday, 5/13
I think maybe she's dreaming of home and her big family! So far so good. She gained 58 grams last night and jumped her to 1775 grams. She slept all day today so I expect her to gain again. She passed her second car seat test and I am all packed and ready to drive back to Va. Hopefully we will be leaving early afternoon, Chris arrives at the airport at 10:30 so we should be back at the hospital by noon to pick up Myanna and start the long drive...we will be taking our time and giving her some breaks too so its not such a hard trip for her...see you all soon!

thursday, 5/12
Well, I passed the carseat test today...My heart rate and respirations stayed perfect! I also had a bubble bath and got my hands and feet printed in mommy's baby book for me. I lost 4 grams today, oops, but am hoping to gain more tonight since they raised my feeding to 38ml and then 40ml this evening.

wednesday, 5/11
Today, Mya gained 14 grams so she is 1721, which is still 3lb, 12oz. The doctor was very happy though with her weight gain and tomorrow we will put her in a carseat to test her and see if she can tolerate sitting in a carseat, pretty normal for a preemie. If not she will have to ride in a car-bed. I like the carseat better actually because she will eat and we want the food to stay in her tummy and not come back up! We will see what works for her and I will let you know. Still committed to saturday, yeah! She was bright eyed from 3-4:30 today, and a bit fussy too, but at least not passed out like usual from the meds. Her eyes are so dark blue they are blending in with her pupils. Her little fuzz hair looks brown, we need some eyebrows though. :)

tuesday, 5/10
Things are moving forward. The doctor seems commited to Saturday. Mya gained 22 grams last night so she is 1707, she is 3lb,12oz. She was awake a bit today and just making a lot of movements with her hands. We got an apnea monitor for the trip, to keep an eye on her-so we are getting ready to leave!

monday, 5/9Well, disapointment but happiness as well. They couldn't get it to work out with our transfer flight. There was no medical people to actually ride on the plane, only a pilot, so of course Mya couldn't go. The new plan is for Mya to gain weight and hopefully get discharged on saturday or sunday and come home! Chris is flying to Alabama on saturday and we will drive back to Va together, all 3 of us. She only gained 5 grams last night, she is 1685, still 3lb. 11oz. She needs to do better than that for them to let her go home for good. They upped her diuretic according to her weight, her breathing was racing again. Sorry in all the craziness I forgot to take a photo today! Her hernia will probably be operated on in Va when she is bigger.

sunday, 5/8 An extention of my thumb...
Myanna gained 30 grams last night, she is 1680-3lb, 11oz.
She is still sleeping constantly but I did get a moment of her eyes open during a feeding. Tomorrow is the big day, I can't wait to see what the people at the hospital say in the morning...if we can come home! She loves her pacifier, she tries her thumb but its just not big enough so she is holding the paci in her mouth with her thumb. She's so smart! |

Apparently Fairfax is shuffling some patients to fit Myanna in.
We really want her to come home soon! Other than that, she gained 8 grams and is 1650 grams which is still 3lb, 10oz. The new medication they put her on is making her a bit sleepy, obviously..but, she is still saying her prayers to go home! |

friday, 5/6
Hi everyone! Myanna is growing wonderfully. She gained weight and is now 3 lb 9 oz! 1642 grams. She had to start taking another medication tonight for her heart, but hopefully it will help with her breathing. The BIG news tonight is that everything is falling into place and we have been told that we can transfer to a hospital by our home in Va. We are very excited. Still praying it all works out so we can leave on monday to go home. Myanna will take a jet plane, mommy will drive home.

thursday May 5/5 - 3 weeks old!
Myanna is doing great and looking just like a mini baby rather than such a preemie. She gained 27 grams and is 1595 today, which makes her 3lb 8oz. She got a bath today which makes her hair fuzzy, still trying to determine the color. Her temp is maintaining perfectly so she is in her her bed to stay, hopefully. She loves to eat and this is what she is like when she is done eating...full and content and ready to sleep.
