Horse Back riding...
Anna started horse back riding in March. The first place we went to I was not happy with due to the young trainers and no therapy, which was what I was paying for. We switched to a new place in April and it has been amazing. In 30 minutes, Anna has a speech, ot, pt and horse riding lesson! All at once and she has no idea it's work because she is having too much fun. She places rings on poles, and rides backwards, she has been learning to climb on and off of her pony, who by the way is named Annie! They sing, count, play games and ride very fast sometimes...Myanna's favorite part!

Spring fun...
Spring this year has brought many fun days thus far...from bubbles, cousins, Amanda's graduation, sun fun, Jason's graduation and did I mention bubbles? Yes, that is one of Anna's absolute favorite thing to do. She has been growing, as in growing up I have noticed from her language to her learning how to live in the world around her. We have had much less meltdowns in crowded places, even loud restaurants are becoming something tolerable to her. In her therapy sessions, I have been told that she is cutting with scissors pretty proficiently now and can even do basic mazes. They are working on writing letters with her and other basic hand coordination skills. In speech, we were told that her language is up to where she needs to be, minus the articulation. She tends to talk fast, which I have found that I do too, but with Anna's speedy talking she leaves off the ends of words and jumbles them together making it hard for others to comprehend her. But, moving forward and that is always a plus in my book!
She will be ending school very shortly, but next year she will return to the same school with many of her same friends. This summer might be challenging since her favorite activity of the day is school, but we will manage. I cannot say enough about our school system and I know we are not only lucky but truly Blessed with the teachers and staff we have found along the way.

gymnastics...Another new activity we tried this spring was gymnastics. I was lucky enough to find a place where we were able to receive one on one classes for Myanna. With her hyper activity there was no other way of her handling all the hussle and bussle going on in the huge gym. She loves it! She now has another little friend that she enjoys being with and its giving her the opportunity to take turns and learn from others. We are hoping to continue into the summer and possibly fall, but the coach might not be continuing.

Sorry, these images are low quality because I am far away and shooting photos through the glass
My little one can sure send out a radiant light to anyone she meets. I am realizing more and more everyday that her heart and soul can light up another person's day. Her warm nature is heartwarming. She can still see things that I don't even notice and makes me enjoy the little things. I stop and sit with her some days and just let her tell me what she sees. Her inquisitive nature is blossoming and even a little leaf is an amazing thing for her to find. What a true beauty to see nature the way it was intended to be, raw and beautiful. As she becomes more verbal I become more impressed with her love of life. I fear those who will make fun of her or point her out to be unique, because those are the ones who destroy dreams and I believe she will have amazing dreams one day.
In our garden by the mailbox, we have white stone. It's a beast to dig in and plant flowers. SO, Anna tossed seeds all over the rocks and watered them often...the results were beautiful. She even was able to grow flowers in the cracks between the sidewalk where some seeds fell.

Cousins :)
Meeting and playing with new friends is especially fun for Anna, and its even more fun when those friends are her cousins! We have already had some visits from cousins in NY and Ohio this year as well as our cousins near home, and here are some fun memories...
Funny little story...we were at the restaurant waiting for our food and Anna and I went to the restroom. When we returned to our table, the waiter was there holding Anna's pizza. She ran up to him and said, "thank you, thank you" and hugged his legs! I don't think he had ever had so an excited customer, or appreciative.

I was told at gymnastics one day that Anna's little friend had scratched her leg and was upset...Anna was trying to help her and told her to take deep breaths like she does when she is upset.
Her teacher also informed me that at school when a friend is sad, Anna makes funny faces at them and tries to make them laugh. |
