Update...1/30/12....Myanna has had a massive weight gain!! She is finally drinking bottles again! She has gained 1lb 11oz in just 2 weeks and now weighs a whopping 15 pounds at 9 1/2 months old. She is doing great and we hope this excitement towards eating lasts a long time.

So, Myanna is doing excellent now. She is all better and on a new medication to help with her eating issues. She is also on a high calorie powder to help her gain a bit of weight and it seems to be working quite well since she is now 14lbs 4oz! She likes her new bath tub too and was feeling well enough to take her big sister back to college. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.

Finally home again...1/15/12

She does very well with her nebulizer most of the time, unless she's tired. Our biggest problem right now is she has no appetite. From the illness she has lost from 14 lbs to
13 lbs 5oz. and I am not sure we are done losing yet.

This is a nasty virus and she has passed it on to me now, mommy. It was only a matter of time since she has been sleeping with me for comfort. Thank you everyone for your prayers and support...she has had a tough year!

Hospital again...1/13/12

So, on monday January 9th, Myanna was not eating very well...by Wednesday she had quite a cold...by Friday when I took her to the pediatrician she was diagnosed with RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus). In adults it is a cold, but in young infants, especially preemies who have compromised immune systems it can be quite serious. Later, on friday, after Myanna had vomited up everything she ate or drank we were on our way to the ER. She was admitted that night and put on a NDtube which is a feeding tube that goes in your nose and directly into her duodenum (or small intestine). This was so she wouldn't throw up the food from her stomach since it was past that point. On Sunday morning I started feeding her to see if she could keep food down, and she did. Sunday night the doctor decided that since she was eating her own food that she could go home. We were very happy and she was thrilled to get the tube out of her nose! The next morning, we brought her to the pediatrician and she is very comfortable there...she sat very quietly while she was checked and they heard wheezing in her lower right lung, Pneumonia. I guess since she is pretty miserable and didn't really trust the doctors at the hospital that they couldn't hear her lungs well enough...end result, she was put on a nebulizer and antibiotic. She also had an ear infection starting so that just added more to her misery. My poor baby...she just can't catch a break.
